FALL/WINTER 2018

Fall has arrived, and so has this season’s look book.

This season The Helm is all about creating a polished look that reflects the rugged outdoors. Imagine rustic vacations and high-end adventures that end with a scotch at the lodge.

Our fall/winter 2018 collection features items from Luigi Bianchi Mantova, Brunello Cucinelli, and Ralph Lauren Polo, plus newcomers to The Helm: Howlin’, Hugo, A.P.C., and Portuguese Flannel.

This collection highlights plush fabrics and unexpected layers. Flannel and corduroy mixed with chunky knitwear take centre stage. Warm tones offset the cool temperatures, with pink, rust, and mid-brown shades meeting inky blues and emerald greens.

The first look in our collection features head-to-toe Brunello Cucinelli. This is the quintessential rustic vacation look, with a lux cable-knit sweater layered over a fine-wale corduroy sport shirt. The slightly distressed jeans add an element of ruggedness, while the wool overcoat finishes off the refined look.

Texture and contrast are key this season. The subtle red fleck in this navy jacket from Pal Zileri offsets the brown trouser and rust tones in the tie and pocket square.

Roll neck sweaters make a particularly elegant statement. Wear them as an alternative to a collared shirt and tie for a slightly more relaxed yet refined look.

Hugo is new to The Helm this season. Their iconic clean, masculine, and simple aesthetic takes a page out of Daniel Craig’s playbook. Dark tones are versatile here, with a moto-style jacket, a chunky knit and corduroy trouser.

Layer up this season for a casual look that stands out. A classic crew neck sweatshirt layered under Phil Petter’s alpine-inspired cable-knit zip maintains a laidback vibe while elevating your weekend wear.

This season’s essential item: A statement overcoat that uses texture and pattern to separate it from the basics.

Corneliani’s down-filled Jeep jacket is form and function combined. The jacket’s geometric quilting and rich navy colour creates a bold contrast with the lavender crew neck sweater from Howlin’.

Winter white is evident throughout this season’s lookbook, and for good reason. Choosing a light base gives you the freedom to experiment with pattern and colour, which is a key component of fall 2018.
