A Minute With Aaron Pedersen

A Minute With Aaron Pedersen

April 13th, 2020

Dressed in all black (always), a smirk on his face, and a brain full of creative ideas, Aaron Pedersen is the human embodiment of “cool shit.” He’s a celebrated photographer based out of Edmonton, and he has been shooting our major campaigns since The Helm opened in 2012. We sat down with him for a quick minute to ask him a few rapid-fire questions.

Describe yourself in three words.

Goth teddy bear.

What’s for breakfast?

Coffee. Usually just coffee.

Unpopular opinion?

I’ve got lots of unpopular opinions.

Just over 20 years.

If I had to pick my neighbourhood, Downtown Edmonton, it would be Cosmic.

I’m a big sports fan and I really like British baking shows.

Favourite city you’ve been to?

Chicago.

Favourite photo you’ve ever taken?

I don’t think I’ve got a favourite. One of my favourite shoots was shooting Charles Bradley for Georgie Magazine. He was just an excellent human being.

What’s your dream photo project?

Any project that involves my favourite crew, which happens to be my best friends.

Pet peeve when you’re on a shoot?

Words that don’t mean anything, like “edgy.”
