Three ways to style white jeans

Three ways to style white jeans

July 16th, 2019

White jeans are a summer staple for men, but styling them can be a bit daunting if you haven’t done it before. Don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.

Rules for wearing white jeans

Don’t overdo it with colour

White jeans are already a bit of a statement item, so don’t go crazy with colour or bold prints. Browns, blues, and earth tones are generally your best bet.

Don’t go too tight

White jeans have a way of showing off things you may not want to show off, so opt for a slightly looser fit in a straight cut.

Know how to treat stains

Sometimes it’s best to accept your fate. Assume that at some point you’ll spill something on your fresh white jeans, and know what to do about it in advance. Using club soda or sparkling water, douse the stain and dab at it (don’t rub) until you get most of the stain off. As soon as you get home, treat them with a stain remover like OxyClean and immediately throw them in the wash.

Wear good shoes

White jeans are going to draw attention to the lower half of your body, so you don’t want the view to end with a pair of beat up old sneakers. Whether you’re going casual or dressy with your footwear choice, make sure they are in good condition.

Three Ways to Wear White Jeans

White jeans are a bit preppy, but they can be styled casually or with a bit of an edge depending on your personal tastes. Here are a few of our favourite ways to wear them.

Look 1 - The Wimbledon

Wimbledon is known for drawing out the best in casual summer menswear, and you’ll often see white trousers being worn with linen blazers. It has a European vibe to it, and it’s a fairly easy look to pull off.

A light blue check sport jacket with a bit of texture keeps the look fresh and summery, and a bright (but not obnoxious) pocket square adds some intrigue up top. Light brown driving shoes and a coordinating belt ties it all together.

Where to wear the look: Date night, international tennis matches, casual Friday

Shop the look: Brax white jeans | Stenstroms white dress shirt | Luigi Bianchi blue check sport jacket | Tom Ford Beau sunglasses | Drake’s yellow pocket square | Magnanni brown leather driving shoes

Look 2 - The Trendsetter

If you’re wearing white jeans well, people will naturally assume you know a thing or two about style. Keep that impression going by wearing them with a couple trendy pieces for weekend style that’ll turn heads.

A quality graphic tee goes a long way in building the cool casual look. Go with a t-shirt that’s a little bold but avoid anything that makes you look try-hardy. Tuck the t-shirt in and layer a lightweight vest overtop. Finish it off with a pair of (clean), on-trend sneakers like the New Balance 574s.

Where to wear the look: Out for beers, casual first dates, city strolls

Shop the look: Brax white jeans | President’s hand painted graphic t-shirt | Corneliani CC vest | New Balance 574 Classic Sneakers

Look 3 - The Weekender

For a grown-up approach to weekend wear, wear your white jeans with a denim jacket and a sleek zip cardigan underneath. Intentional layering is key here. Leather sneakers dress the jeans up a bit, but the denim jacket and braided belt maintains a relaxed attitude. Cap it off with layered bracelets for a refined touch.

Where to wear the look: coffee dates, BBQs, weekend errands, family dinners

Shop the look:

Brax white jeans | Frame denim jacket | Gran Sasso mint cardigan | Alex Mill white t-shirt | Brunello Cucinelli leather sneakers | Tateossian bracelets
