The Helm's Outerwear Highlights FW/14October 22nd, 2014
We’ve been hanging on to summer by the skin of our teeth, but the weather's been changing over the past two days. The evenings have taken on a crisp nature and the trees are looking bare. We're full of great fall product here at The Helm, with some of the season’s highlights being in the outerwear category. Have a look at some of the notable pieces for the FW/14 season so far.
Luigi Bianchi. The above outfit is anchored with a Luigi Bianchi top coat($895) and sport jacket($1150). We show these with a pair of Incotex washed slim fit jeans($295), a Corneliani scarf($255), Tino Cosma gloves($195), Hugo Boss Tailored shoes($495) and Mismo briefcase($1050).
Moorer. This made in Verona, wool and cashmere blend down-filled vest($950) is best used as a layering piece. We've paired it with a President's Shetland wool crew neck($295) and cotton button down oxford shirt($195). The Corneliani scarf($170) and Mismo bag($1095) complete the look.
Ralph Lauren Black Label. This quilted bomber with an offset zip($1198) is paired with waxed jeans($298), both from RL. Shoes($295) and gloves($165) from Hugo Boss with a Zanone cashmere/wool/silk scarf($425) to finish things off.
Hugo Boss. An alternative to the classic topcoat is this double breasted glen check wool piece($995). We've matched it with a Woolrich JRB turtleneck($295), black J Brand jean($265) and Magnanni boot($475).
Woolrich - John Rich & Bros. This unique denim parka($950) is a durable alternative to the conventional nylon shell down-filled parkas. In this particular look, the parka is paired up with a President's jean($295), Woolrich boot($325) and Alex Begg scarf($120).
Moorer. The king of all parkas! This wool and cashmere blend navy parka from Moorer($2450) fulfills the needs of the sophisticated city dweller, to the weekend mountain vacationer. This parka is filled with fine Siberian down for maximum warmth and lightweight comfort, and is paired in this photo with an Incotex 5 pocket trousers($335), Zanone cashmere blend scarf($425) and Hugo Boss Tailored monk strap shoes($695).
President's - Crafted in Tuscany. This young brand out of Italy has had our attention since the day we saw it. Their Hummel parka($725) has clean lines, and doesn't fall under your normal rainwear category, featuring a removable cotton lining and fishtail silhouette. Here it's paired with President's cotton canvas trousers($365), oxford shirt($195) and Hugo Boss suede sneaker($295).
Sudio. This is the year of the shearling jacket. This Canadian made bomber is constructed from laser cut, lightweight sheepskin, giving it a clean, elegant apperance($2250). It's paired with an Incotex jean($295) and Scarpe Di Bianco shoe($1295).
Woolrich - John Rich & Bros. Casual and clean describe this flight bomber from JRB($650), with a ram's fur removable collar. It's paired with a President's jean($275) and Hugo Boss sneaker($295).
Ralph Lauren Black Lablel. This RL vest($798) has an edge to it with suede shoulder patches and zip chest pocket. We've paired it with a moto style merino zip sweater($798) and corduroy 5 pocket pants($375) also from RL. The look is finished off with Magnanni single strap chukka boots($475).
Woolrich - John Rich & Bros. Last but not least is the sleek Sundance blazer from Woolrich JRB($345). This lightweight down-fill pairs well with washed J Brand jeans($295) and Swims slip-on boots($245).
